A popular place for soup curry. Expect long waiting time. First time trying so we played safe and ordered mild spicy. Unfortunately, we made the wrong choice. The soup were flavourful but only a tad spicy. The meat was tender and well cooked

Staff was very friendly and ordering was easy by scanning QR code. I ordered premium lamb, medium spicy. Which was not very spicy to me but, it had a good flavorful. Probably could have gone to Spicy. The others I was ordered “sweet” which was the least spicy. The lamb was juicy and flavorful would recommend. Picture shows small rice you can get medium rice upgrade for free but if want large there is additional charge.

Not your typical thick-soup curry, but more watery. The taste is not underwhelming at all. I ordered chicken which fall of the bone. My first Hokkaido soup curry so I don't know if it's the best, nonetheless they have put the bar high. Oh don't forget the rice, fragrant and sweet, and they put lemon at the side for a bit of acidity, marvelous.

Cosy and dim restaurants. Nice to eat this during winter. Go to 2nd floor. There might be some queue due to its popularity. We manage to get a seat for 4 quite fast. We order different variation but the curry soup base is mostly the same. It's not the thick curry type but rather watery. But it is flavourful. You can add on additional food options, like grill pumpkin, sausages, eggs n etc. Food is serve pretty fast. More tourist here than locals.

Long line, but worth the wait! They have a system that let's you know if it's your turn in your phone. Soup curry is sooo good! I love it and it is worth the price!

TLDR: Both are Worth the Visit • Suage+: Best for those who crave bold spice, heat, and the aroma of charcoal-grilled ingredients. • Garaku: Best for those who prefer a milder, dashi-forward profile with deep, savory undertones. Suage+ (The Bold & Smoky) • The Rice: Moisture-rich and tender; a great pairing for the thinner soup base. • The Soup: A punchy, aromatics-forward start with a lovely balance of heat and a lingering onion sweetness. It hits the palate immediately with a "pop" of flavor. • The Vegetables: Consistently excellent across the board, elevated by a distinct charred, smoky finish from the charcoal grill. • The Service: Maintains an authentic local charm; despite the long lines, the staff keeps a high level of hospitality that feels personal rather than mechanical. Soup Curry Garaku (The Savory & Classic) • The Rice: Firm and al dente, offering a nice textural bite against the liquid curry. • The Soup: Leans toward a traditional, dashi-heavy curry profile. It’s less about sharp spices and more about a rich, layered sweetness that develops on the finish. • The Vegetables: The broccoli is the uncontested star—perfectly executed—though the other vegetables felt more standard. The inclusion of wood ear mushrooms provides a unique, crunchy textural contrast (like ramen) • The Service: Efficient and streamlined, but has a more commercial, "chain-like" atmosphere compared to the local feel of Suage+.

our most favorite soup curry in Sapporo!!! love the smokiness that comes from the grilled veggies and toppings - it adds so much flavor, it was quite a queue though so better come prepared especially in the cold season, but it was so worth it!

The perfect meal for a cold day in Sapporo. The chicken soup curry was amazing and hit the spot. Even though the wait was long, the ticket system made the process very smooth. It’s a busy spot with a great atmosphere.

I waited 2 hours for Garaku and that was a huge disappointment (don't bother, there's even a Garaku at the CTS airport). I thought soup curries in general were overrated. Tried the Rojiura Samurai Soup Curry as well. Even more of a disappointment. However this changed when I tried Suage. It is absolutely worth the 60 minute wait (Went around 4:00pm, 60 minute wait). Got the Zangi curry bowl with egg and extra pieces of Zangi chicken. Simply amazing. The chicken is crispy and juicy and the soup base (standard base) was stellar. I got level 2 heat, possibly 3 might be better but had no problems with 2. I ended up ordering a 300g bowl of rice to finish up the soup curry. I'll definitely be back for a second before I leave to try the ramen. Process: go there, use the iPad to get your QR printed ticket. Scan it with your phone to check online for status (unfortunately uses Line which totally sucks, but you can check on the web). When you see a bell next to your number, go back and line up at the staircase. Wait for them to take your receipt. Then you'll be sat down, scan the QR code on the table and order from the web. Pretty simple.

It was absolutely delicious. I’ve been to other soup curry places before, but this one is hands down the best. Waiting isn’t a problem at all as long as you have the LINE app. You can put yourself on the waitlist, walk around the nearby shopping area, and head back when the app notifies you. I ordered the Pari-Pari Chicken, and the smoky flavor and crispy texture were insane. I was also surprised at how good all the vegetables were—especially the broccoli. That said, the portion of meat was pretty small, so if I come back, I’ll definitely add extra. I wouldn’t really recommend the pork. I’d love to go again, but unfortunately I don’t have time on this trip. The Yubari melon lassi was also great.
